Estimate the loan you may qualify for, based on your income and the EMI you can comfortably afford. Lenders usually keep total EMIs within about half your income.
Lenders look at your FOIR (Fixed Obligations to Income Ratio) - the share of your income that goes to EMIs. Most keep total EMIs within about 40-50% of your net income. This calculator uses 50% as a guide: it takes half your income, subtracts any existing EMIs to find an affordable EMI, then works out the loan that EMI supports at your rate and tenure.
Actual eligibility also depends on your credit score, employment stability, age, the lender's policies and the property or asset. Treat this as a planning estimate, not a sanction.
As a rule of thumb, keep total EMIs within about 40-50% of your net monthly income. This tool uses 50% to estimate an affordable EMI and the loan it supports; actual limits depend on the lender and your credit profile.
Fixed Obligations to Income Ratio - the portion of income committed to EMIs. Lenders generally want it under about 50%, so lower existing EMIs mean higher eligibility.
